Pediatric ENT Conditions

What kid likes to go to the doctor? And what kid likes to have his or her tonsils removed?
We pride ourselves in making a child’s office visit with us a truly pleasant experience. Our entire professional and office staff are extremely child-friendly. Our entire professional and office staff are extremely child-friendly. And our compassionate examination techniques help them get through what can be a very anxious time for them.
Should surgery become necessary, we have developed techniques to make the procedure as comfortable for kids as possible. For example, Dr. Weiss is one of the first ENT surgeons in CT to use Coblation® Tonsillectomy for reduced pain and faster recovery.
Our areas of primary focus with children include:
- Inserting ear tubes to help mediate frequent infections caused by poor drainage.
- Treating problems related to tonsils and adenoids. Many parents may be unaware that their child may be suffering from sleep apnea. The good news is that it can be diagnosed easily and is virtually cured in children by simple removal of the tonsils or adenoids.
- Conducting hearing tests to make sure any hidden problems are addressed at an early age, before it affects their performance in school.
- Sinus conditions and allergies. Dark circles under a child’s eyes or a crease of the skin across the nose can often be a sign of a sinus problem or allergies.
Dr. Weiss has a great deal of experience with children. He trained at the prestigious Schneider’s Childrens Hospital and has been awarded Fellowship in the American Academy of Pediatrics.
