What is otoplasty?
Otoplasty is often referred to as “pinning” the ears back. Otoplasty alters the appearance of your ears through a facial plastic surgery procedure. A plastic surgeon reshapes and molds cartilage in the ears to reposition them after making incisions behind the ears. After being repositioned, the openings behind the ears are closed with sutures and protected with medical dressing.
Otoplasty patients have options when undergoing the procedure with CT ENT. They may choose between local anesthesia, sedation, or general anesthetic. Otoplasty allows patients to return home the same day as an outpatient procedure.
