Melissa Figueroa joined CT ENT in November of 2017 as Allergy Nurse under the guidance of Allergy and Sublingual Therapy Expert Dr. Michelle Leonard. After quickly establishing herself as a resource for allergy testing, diagnosis and individualized ENT allergy therapies, Figueroa was promoted to Department Charge Nurse.
As Department Charge Nurse, Figueroa provides patients with individualized ENT Allergy plans including Sublingual Immunotherapy. This simple treatment, achieved by placing an allergy drop under the tongue each day, desensitizes the immune system long-term, while minimizing ENT Allergy symptoms in the meantime.
Figueroa graduated from Lincoln Technical Institute in 2012 with her LPN License. She began her nursing career as a Charge Nurse at an assisted living facility in Branford on a Dementia and Alzheimer’s unit.
Figueroa is a member of The American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. She actively seeks training and educational opportunities to expand her knowledge of innovative treatments and therapies in the field of ENT Allergy. She is currently working towards a Registered Nurse degree via a hybrid nursing program at Naugatuck Valley Community College.
When she is not at work, Figueroa enjoys spending time with her young son, family and friends. She also enjoys traveling and cooking.
