Don’t let your eyebrows dictate your look. Take years of aging and a droopy appearance off your face.
What effect are your eyebrows having on how others see you? If you’re constantly being asked if you’re tired or stressed, or if you’re self-conscious about your flat, droops brows, they may be having a bigger impact on your life than you previously realized.
Aging impacts us all, but we have a say in how we respond to it. If having a youthful appearance and smooth skin around your forehead is important to you, explore the benefits of a long-lasting brow lift from Dr. Heather Waters by scheduling an appointment today.
What is a brow lift?
While a facelift focuses on bringing youth back to the lower half of your face, a brow lift assists in minimizing the impact aging has on the top half of your face. This cosmetic procedure, also called a forehead rejuvenation or lift, lifts your brow by raising tissue and skin in the forehead, lessening the appearance of wrinkles and bringing a livelier look to your face. A brow lift may be paired with a facelift to gain a youthful appearance in the top and bottom of your face.
As an outpatient procedure, a brow lift is performed by a surgeon under general anesthesia and lasts from 1-2 hours. There are various types of brow lifts that your surgeon may recommend, including:
Endoscopic: Endoscopic procedures are completed with an endoscope, which is a thin tube with a small camera and light attached. Through an incision, your surgeon will insert the endoscope to observe the formation of your tissues, and then lift those tissues and hold them in place with the aid of sutures.
Coronal: During a coronal brow lift, your forehead will be lifted and held in a new position after incisions are made across the top of your head from one ear to the other. This technique requires a low hairline and is not recommended for those who may bald later in life. The scalp is sewn back together after overlapping skin is removed.
Hairline: A hairline brow lift, as the name implies, involves removing skin and tissue not from your scalp but from the top of your forehead near your hairline. This technique preserves your hairline while others may slightly pull back the position of your hairline.
A brow lift provides long-term results that typically last several years for our patients. Brow lifts are known to outlast the performance of single Botox injections, which last “four to six months on average” with the first treatment expected to last a shorter period of time (1).
