AUVI-Q® is designed to help with life-threatening allergies and the ability to respond with epinephrine during anaphylaxis.
AUVI-Q® was Developed by Patients, for Patients® using Human Factors Engineering, incorporating real-world experience and feedback from people with life-threatening allergies and their caregivers.It is designed to be easy to use, and to help maximize the safe administration of epinephrine and minimize the potential for use-related errors during injection.
The first and only FDA-approved epinephrine auto-injector for infants and toddlers weighing 16.5 lbs to 33 lbs with life-threatening allergies. AUVI-Q® (epinephrine injection, USP) 0.1 mg is now available. (It is not known if AUVI-Q® is safe and effective in children weighing less than 16.5 lbs.)
AUVI-Q® is about the size of a credit card and thickness of a cell phone and fits into most pockets, small purses, and diaper bags. AUVI-Q® is small enough to fit in your child’s pocket or backpack for quick accessibility at school.
AUVI-Q® includes innovative features:
- voice instructions to help guide users through the entire epinephrine injection
- a 2-second countdown begins after AUVI-Q® is activated
- after the injection is complete, AUVI-Q® will beep, and the lights will blink red
AUVI-Q is available in three strengths.
- 0.3 mg for patients weighing 66 lbs or more
- 0.15mg for children weighing 33 lbs to 66 lbs
- 0.1 mg for infants and toddlers weighing 16.5 lbs to 33 lbs
Your prescription comes with 2 Auto-injectors and 1 Trainer Unit.
- the trainer unit for AUVI-Q® does not contain a needle or medicine
- it can be used and reused to practice an injection before an allergic emergency happens
